Over the past week or so I have been able to hunt for artifacts on family property near Russell Cave. For the last 6 days I've been posting pics of my finds and was IMMEDIATELY hit with "it's just a natural rock"..and.."enough already"...

Granted not everyone gave those replies but majority did. The rocks I found were different from all the native rocks in the area and my gut told me these are not "just rock or river cobble" even though I hardly found any sign of flakes I kept on.

If I would've stopped looking in the area of all the "natural rocks" I would've missed these 2 beauties.

Thank you to all the naysayers because I DIDNT LISTEN!!!

Can someone give me some info on these?

These are natural rocks - that were then made by ancient peoples into artifacts. Nice finds.

Depends of where you live (state). I'd guess middle Archaic period especially on the 2nd piece which appears to be a knife.

Replies were given based on pictures you posted, that doesn't mean there weren't artifacts to be found in area where you were hunting, only that the ones posed had no signs of being artifacts..I hunted fields, bluffs, creeks, streams and rivers in central Missouri for over 20 years, I found couple thousand artifacts and hundreds of thousands of just rocks where the artifacts were

Big congratulations to you, your perseverance paid off!

Agreed. A lot of what I saw on your earlier posts were just natural stones. Now these two are definitely man made. The top is a broken tip and the bottom one a small Knife. Nice finds.

The 2nd one is a nice frame worthy find looks perfect. Can we see both sides of your 1st nice find?

That isnt the whole point/ knife. Id like to front and back of the WHOLE one

Morrow Mountain look to it. Could be Woodland period also. Lots of Woodland points look a lot like MM.
