I bought this Excal about 3 years ago and have only used it 12 - 15 times mostly in dry sand/surf when on family vacation to Fl. each summer. As soon as I got it I sent it off to Joe Beechnut for PP mod. It has had a gentle life and works as it should.
It comes with several upgrades:
*Anderson Carbon Fiber Long Shaft
*Anderson Knob Guard
*Gray Ghost Underwater Headphones
*2nd NiMH Rechargeable Battery
*Smart Charger
*The Ecal "From Beginner to Advanced" book by Clive James

In Jan. I sent it into the Minelab Detector Center and had all O-rings replaced. Due to PP Mod they would only pressure test it to 20 feet, which it passed. And will include that paperwork as well. I'm asking $1,500. Would like to use Paypal and I will take care of the shipping. Feel free to PM me.

Thanks, Heavy22 20180720_121348.jpg20180720_121402.jpg20180720_121423.jpg20180720_121512.jpg20180720_121527.jpg20180720_121551.jpg20200524_173407.jpg

Well I've had it posted for a few weeks now and not so much as ab offer.. (Damn you Equinox.!!) Lol... Although even if you're not actually looking to purchase it, i would like to hear what y'all think i should be asking for it.? And "No" free won't be an option. Just wanting to see what seems to be the going rate.. And yes everything works as it should. Thanks again

I don’t think your price is unreasonable especially when folks will talk you down. I have a nice blue one to sell but I’m sure I will take a good loss on it.

If you take a look on ebays sold listings for used Excalibur 2, you'll likely see why it isn't moving, they tend to go around and under $1k, most with extras like yours, extras very hard to quantify anyhow for the average person. So you are basically asking retail and in return, a would be buyer gets a few upgrades but sacrifices warranty [a big deal for a pricey water machine], so a few dynamics involved with any sale like this. I'd at least bump it off $1,500, I think asking retail for a used item is a psychological block for alot of folks, even with extras thrown in. For your part, you have to consider shipping and paypal fees as well, which will certainly be over $50 combined, but thats really not a consideration for the buyer.

Don't think Nox looms large here, this machine is obviously on a whole different level for a serious water hunter. Nox may be generally more versatile and affordable but it is geared towards casual water hunters and waders [as you know, just sayin].

I sold 2 stock X2's long before the EQ came out and were still in high demand.

One for 1k.

And the other which had some wear for 700.

I realize you have had upgrades.... but 1,200 would be tops in this market... IMO.

Best of luck.

Too rich for my blood lol. I got my first excal 1 blue tube for $650 in 2009 and it retired in 2018 after its final trip to minelab repair hospital was unsuccessful. I realize that was a pretty good price even factory issue. While I love the unit and I do want a newer one I'm forced to wait n watch.

Other things, to point out the obvious, pandemic has put a damper on sales of something like this, not only because more folks are low on income but many beaches remain closed as well.
Also, some folks might be reluctant to engage in a transaction with a member with a low post count.
But of course the main point is $$, $1,300 I think it would have a shot but still would take a specialized buyer, someone who was ready to pull the trigger and is lured away from buying new with warranty to save a couple hundred $$. $1,200 would expose a new category of buyer, someone on the fence or not that serious about water detecting but with some disposable income, and can't resist the savings. Still make take some time though, all things considered.

Under that would likely be a quick sell, I elaborate only cause you asked OP, good luck.

I appreciate y'alls input, all of which make sense. Although I still think it's a $1,500 machine, but like they say its only worth what someone will pay for it.. lol..

I just bought a used one just like yours for $900.00 with all the upgrades. I’m still waiting for all the local fresh water swimming areas to open. Good luck!

I just bought a new old stock with small coil for 900.00. One on a Anderson shaft for 850.00 awhile back in great shape.

For new ones with a warranty I was quoted $1200.

Excal only has a 1 year warranty so if a buyer can save money by buying used and it lasts over a year buyer is ahead. Mods on Excal are like mods on a car, you dont always get all your money back. Why are you wanting to sell to get an Nox? Every salt water hunter should have at least one excal in their arsenal. If I had to sell all my water detectors but one, the one I would keep would be an excal with reverse pp, I own Nox, CTX3030 and several Excals With PP mods.

Couldn't get a response to my offer. I went a different route. Thanks
