I'd like to add to this. My wife said she always wanted to do this. Now I am thinking that I would like to get a MD for her. Any suggestions what would be a good complement to the Excalibur? I'd consider used too. Doesn't have to be waterproof either. Simple use would be better too. but not a junk one. I want her to enjoy doing it and have luck finding something. Like most all of the opposite sex, she has an affinity for jewelry, gold, etc.

Minelab Exc.1000 is a great detector. I have two water detectors minelab, seamk2.
minelab goes little more deeper.

Give some thought to the ML Sovereign GT and add the WOT coil to it. YOu can pick up the Minelab meter for it too.

You'll love the Ex 1000. Best you buy the Misses a Ex 1000, too. If you live near or hunt the beaches a lot, don't worry, they will pay for themselves. Congrats on the new detector and have a great time hunting.......
