Excalibur 1000

Well i don't think i would pay more than $600 for one but that is me …. Some are paying crazy high prices for used detectors … But like i said not me i wait for the good deals...

I was gonna try tk get him to come down. I just wasn't sure what they were going for.

I see one on ebay now with a bid of $900.00 to me that bidder is nuts…….You pay that much and in a short time if it breaks down it will cost way to much to repair so you should have bought a new one to start with…With the cost of the used detector the price to repair it and shipping cost you could have paid more for that used one then if you bought a new one … And i will not buy any used detector that has been used around or in salt water ..

800 is a bit high, I picked one up for 385, bad battery otherwise great shape... see them for around 400 pretty often....

I have bought many used detectors, currently own 2 used excals I customized, paid $600 for one and $475 for the other.

I would not pay more than $600 for used, at that price if it requires repair your still ahead of the game.

Only things I had to have repaired on mine was headphones , one side stop working and I cracked coil when it fell on concrete (my fault).

Both excals now have 15 inch coils hard wired into controls, both have Grey ghost amphibian headphones hard wired and both have remote pinpoints.

Thanks I appreciate all the help
What year did they stop making the excal 1000

I don't know what year they stopped making the 1000….. But i do know one's that have the Excalibur for there main detector … Hunt fresh water and all there inland hunting with it … And they love them for land hunting .. The only thing they do not like about them is they can not change coils on them …. And most of them are like me we are not screen happy … We do not believe that a screen no matter what you pay for a detector .. Will help you make better finds…

But i do know that they made the first Excalibur 1000 in i998 and made the first Excalibur II in 2008 … So i would guess that they quit making the 1000 in 2008...

Give u an update finally got pics, looked clean. Although he wasn't budging off 800. CAnt justifie that price when theres excal2 on ebsy for the same price.

I know I saw I just missed that, I haven't checked the classified section ib a couple days.

I bought a used VER2 (blue one) for $550.00 awhile back.
The newer ones seem to hover around $800.00.
If I could find a newer one for around $600.00 I would buy it again.

.. what is a VER2 ?

I think he means version 2 the blue headphone model.
