Sent you pm....

Do not put it in the water...

I had the same thing happen on my first Excal after about a yr and a half. Mike at minelab said, "keep it out of the sun".
I laughed, told him, "This is Florida, what do you mean"? LOL! They had to rewire the whole thing. It would have cost a lot, but I had the extended warranty, YAY!

I think they were using cheaper cables then. I've heard they have gone with a better cable, but the "keep it out of the sun", still applies, as to best we can. You probably got your pm about Dave in Orlando. I've met Dave and have total faith in his work. He would be the only one I would let work on my Excals now. Good luck with your repairs.

my Excalibur has the same problem I will never ever buy another product from mine lab they won't stand behind their product the fixing cost is about 350 to 400 dollars I mean what kind of company uses inferior cable and the $1300 metal detector Minelab is a rip off

How old is your detector? Have you called Kellyco and talked to Barry in their Minelab repair center?

Your profile says Daytona Beach you could avoid shipping as well.

I have 2 excals right now and owned one other I sold. I love them..
