Hey guys, wondering if anyone knows if anyone is selling a PP switch kit for an excal. I live across the pond of the guys that are doing or were doing them in the states and I feel semi comfortable doing it myself. Also does it require a straight shaft? The anderson looks great but money is tight right now. Looking at all options though really. Any leads would be appreciated.

Kellyco did my Excal about 5 years ago. Works great, more than pleased. Turned it into a whole new machine and NOT an elbow cranker anymore.

I don't know if they still do the mods, but you can call their 800# and get a quote quickly if they still do.

You can likely buy the conversion kit from them.

Yes it requires a straight shaft.

Kellyco is not doing any mods, they do not have the repair center any longer and it was Dave who was doing the mods with my help. Neither one of us work for Kellyco any longer. Dont know anyone who sells pp kit.

Geez my friend! Guess that makes our machines a whole lot more valuable :)

Alright looks like I have my work a little more cut out for me. Shipping times at the moment don't help much either haha. It looks straight forward enough with an anderson straight shaft and a peizo switch if I am understanding the mod correctly.

Hey OBN I would love a parts list. I've got 3 excals in the family now. They are all begging for a PP mod if Fischer is gonna take until after the pandemic to releasee there machine at this point and I have a feeling minelab is gonna wait until they do to release a new excal in a similar situation as the at max/equinox scenario. Plus the guys I've talked to with minelab seem to all say they have bigger fish to fry in Africa with their prospecting machines at the moment.

Do you leave the knob on the dial on control housing in Pinpoint or Disc? I bought a used Excal 2 on an Anderson straight shaft with the PP Mod from Kellyco on it at the top of hand grip. I am not sure it works? I tried it in Disc mostly. I left Disc at 1, Sense in auto I also assumed forward with button was on and backwards was off. It does not work like video put on here by OBN which BTW OBN Thank you :)
I plan to send the machine back to Minelab Repair in PA to be checked out.

I've had the great pleasure of meeting several members here. OBN came out to meet Indian Steve and I some years ago. I jumped down to
Florida about 6 years ago and met TH, Relevantchair, and Pat Cats = I'm just a nobody in this detecting world. I'm pleased to find a zincoln in a hot 5 hour hunt in the Summer times. Reminds me I should get out soon again, losing friends to old age now.

You could also check with Tony Eisenhower to see if he'll send you all the parts to do the conversion.
