Im going to get an extra battery pack. Wasnt sure if I want to get the rechargable or the Alkaline. Its says its ok to wade with the Alkaline pack but is it ok to sumerge it in the water?

Get the alkaline pack and then get the NIMH replacement rechargeable batteries available on E-bay. I have two alkaline packs and have gone down to over 12 feet with no leakage. The NIMH batteries from E-bay will give you tons of hours on each recharge, more than you could detect in a day.
