Everyone help with this one! Please I need to know what this is!

Hey you guys,
Ok I posting this again on this page cause the artifact guys arent helping much and everybody and thier mom is on this forum so I know ill get some help. First off I am not stretching with this one like a couple people have said. The front of it has the same S design as many of my other knives do I have gathered from the same area. I have around 20 with the same design. It also has 4 notches in it directly across from eachother forming an X to tie the handle down. If u look closeley it also has a worn down piece where the handle would be on the back, Its alot smoother than the rest of it and its placed center of the tiedown directly in the center of the X. It also has a spot where the handle could be placed to stabalize it so when it was being used it wouldnt slip back, this spot is in the center on the back of the piece. I have also seen this design on the net before but I cannot place where I seen it at and thats where you guys come in! 500 people researching is alot better than 1. Thanks for the help in advance.

Its not flint.......But I would say , its some sort of fossil . Or use to be a fossil in that spot....... My question is? Were they all in the same spot or area? How close were they when you found them?

I would think the "rock" guys here are pretty knowledgable, but maybe not about what's found in the ROK.

It could have served many uses over time. It looks as though it may have started as a larger cutting tool and been recycled over time into smaller tools, based on what was needed at the time and what what left of the stone. It probably was abandoned because that deep chip in the side made it unsuitable to further work down to a drill (the final fate of many arrowheads).
Other than that, I don't have a clue.

It is a intresting piece... I have collected pieces from my sites, with impressive similarity's aswell and when you see that in the same location and nowhere else, it is more than just a coincidence... We have seen all types of works from many peoples and tribes in the books, But I believe there are alot more out there that have been over looked, or have never been given the proper consideration.. and in saying that I will tell you what a archaeologist told me! I would hang on to them until the floor boards start sagging and your wife starts chucking them at you.. Good luck and keep posting them.... mike

That indention on one side could been used to start fires.Put a stick in the hole, other end in some tinder, wrap a bow string around the stick, push it back and forth and you'll get a fire.
