WOW! He hit the gravel pit!

The rest looks like the gold from the stream I'm headed to in AK. If it's putting out 5 oz per hour panning, that's what a single pan should look like! Ought to be a fever near death when I use a sluice there!

Larger nuggets like that get carved up as they travel with softer subangular rocks that break easily.
Everytime the rocks break, there is a new sharp edge to gouge the bigger pieces of gold. That’s why those smaller pieces look like carved slivers and not the smooth watermelon seeds you find in the rivers.
