Ever seen the inside of a two piece domed button?

Got out for a search of an old home site with my new V3i, risked life and limb on a shaky old stone bridge following my buddies recommendation to check out a cellar hole he searched years ago. According to him things had changed quite a bit and could not find the cellar hole. searched around he found a horse shoe, I got a nice clear signal and when I dug it up it was a domed two piece NY Militia Button that came apart in my hands!
It was a real treat cause the inside was generally in perfect condition; anyway check it out
Along with the pics of the other finds made over the next couple visits.

I also found a very similar ny militia button recently and the same thing happened after 150 years popped open in my hands mine had a small piece of paper inside but nothing written on it.
