Ever seen any slag like this before?

I picked this up today at a local thrift store for a dollar. I can't find anything that looks similar as far as slag glass goes. I've searched using ribbon, swirl, striped, zebra and multicolored slag as search terms with no luck. Or is it even slag glass? It's definitely glass. What would you call it?

Oh yeah it's about 7 inches wide by 5 inches high and weighs close to 7 pounds.

Might be obsidian. Try substituting obsidian for glass slag, and searching again.

I tried, can't find anything close. The closest (color) would be snowflake obsidian but it's definitely not that. I have a sample or two of snowflake. I'll keep searching, maybe post this in the what is it section later.

Is it from making marbles Thats the first thing that came to mind...d2

looks like marble tank glass...when the operator opens the tank the molten glass flows onto the floor to get the right flow from the tank to the marble machine......then the machine is shoved into place and starts makin marbles.....that glass you showed is called cullet and theres tons of it in wv....cant really tell what company but the purple reminds me of alley agate.....nice decorative piece...i use a 10 lb chunk as a door stop....

Now we're getting somewhere. I was thinking it looked like glass leftover from making marbles but I didn't know what to call it. Cullet was the key word. The actual colors are an opaque white and a transparent (brown) smokey quartz type color. Thanks duffytrash, d2 and Tuberale too.
