I was going in the top bathroom cabinet last night and a big colone bottle fell out and landed right on the nail of my middle toe:o, some cheap colone on top of that, 'to add insult to injury".I don't think it is broke but I am definitely gonna lose my nail.It is mostly just throbbing and I wasn't gonna let it hold me back from hunting this morning until I put my shoe on and tried to walk, like someone from New York might say "forgetaboutit" ,I am not much on hobbling. So I figure the next best thing to hunting is Tnet.At least I can sit back and see what some of you good people are finding.Don't make me too envious now;)Good luck to everyone, have a good weekend and HH!I'll be here with my toe!joe

burn a needle till white hot, lance the nail bed, it will relieve the pressure, you will feel better.

awe you're not going to let a little throbbing and intense pain keep you from having fun are you? one thing about pain, it hurts! hope you get to feeling better soon

Thanks guys!I can't complain too much,it is not as bad as a tooth looter;D

You can also sterilize a small drill bit, and slowly spin it until it makes a hole to let the pressure out. Hope you can get back to hunting soon

Been there done that. Had a large (about fifty pounds) pin from an excavator bucket fall on my finger years ago. If it happened again I would do the drill bit thing. I was just to wimpy to do it last time! Lol! Just last year I shoved the nail of my big toe in a lot. Talk about pain!!! Wow!! I still went to work the next day in work boots and raked a lawn to get the rocks out. Just put on some flip flops and go nice and slow.

thanks!ouch to the excavator finger!I am still mobile ,but I didn't have to go hunting today, work would be a different story. That is what I have been wearing on my feet outside is my adida slippers ,but I don't think them and the woods would get along too well.Maybe tomorrow?

Tomorrow you're going to feel better for sure. Although I must admit I have gone hunting and even hiking in the woods with just flip flops. I live in flip flops when not at work. I would wear them there if I could! Lol. I hope you feel better and maybe even make it out hunting tomorrow!

yes but mine was from GOUT...
Yup! I've had that as well. First time it happened to me I was only about 25. Not fat just can't exist on little Debbie fudge rounds!

and here I am talking about a little toe!My uncle gets that stuff sometimes in his big toe.He drinks allot of beer but he blames it on shrimp/seafood stuff like that.I know that stuff must be terrible. He told me that it gets so bad that he can't even cover his feet with a sheet while he is sleeping because of his big toe.

When i first got gout I sat down feeling fine and got up about 30 minutes later and I screamed and about fell over in pain. Bad stuff and it can come on suddenly...

Done it a dozen times - the hazard of being seriously short and having to stretch to reach anything. Do not do anything to the toe for at least a few days, no drills, no needles. Even badly bruised you may not lose the toenail unless you get an infection from poking at it.

I have a friend who is a podiatrist, but I would die if I let him see my feet...boundaries my friend.

Whenever I have a toe issue where having a shoe on is to much pressure on the toe. I took a old pair of tennis shoes and cut off the top part of the shoe to about 2 inches above the toes, still have a fully functional shoe, while eliminating all the pressure.
used to have a chronically ingrowing big toe nail..got tired of it and had a doc remove that nail and kill the nail bed..no more nail to grow in.

That must have hurt. Does it look really bad now?

Only part that hurt was when the doc numbed the toe, pushing that needle damn near to the bone was kind of fun..NOT..lol..just looks like a toe with no nail.
PS about your other post up there...you are short ? that explains the big mutha diesel ram...making up for something :p

Mike

PS that's not nice, lord I apologize..I'd rather be short than the nearly 7 foot giant I am..

Lol! No the truck used to make me some serious cash, when I lived in southern California. Being short doesn't bother me except when something is........just out of reach! Lol
