Saw this on the news this evening. The GPS system will be set back to zero this weekend. Didn’t catch which day or time. Apparently some handheld devices like garmin may need a software update. If something doesn’t look right on your device while using gps services an update or reboot of the device may be required.

Glad the Deus doesnt have a GPS feature. Lol
Didn’t mean to post under the Deus forum. Oh well.
Everyone one I know uses some kind of map app. Pass it on.

I use gps while detecting. Keeps track of everything I do... thanks for the heads up.

Good heads up. Only an issue for GPS devices over 10 years old according to the articles I read.

I think it was tonight around 7:50 PM ET too...so check now and see what's going on. May be another year 19100 for those that remember Y2K. :)

My handheld Garmin eTrex 30 and my automotive Garmin were unaffected. I forgot to try my old Garmin handheld... I'll dig it out this morning. I also have Garmin sidescan sonar/navigation in my little bass boat that is still bundled up in winter storage. That unit is only four or five years old so I'm not worried too much.

I remember getting all wound up about the Y2K issue. All for naught, thank goodness!

Good hunting,
Bob
