I have been covered up with work for the last 3 weeks and no time to hunt. I did manage about an hour hunt before dark at an old house near where I was working. I found one Merc right at dark and put it in my pill bottle without knowing the date. When I got home, I got it out to clean and saw it was a 1916. I sure was hoping for the little "D" to be on the back, but no such luck, talk about a quick rush. :laughing7:
I got out yesterday and door knocked at a turn of the century home and was told I could look around but it had been hunted by many guys in the 10 years he had owned the property. My first good signal was a wheat penny/merc spill. Next was an 89 Indian a few more wheats and then another Merc. When I was done I showed the owner what I had found and he was surprised I did so well. He then told me he has any empty lot around the corner that had a house on it that was just as old, and I was welcome to hunt there as well. So I went there for about an hour and found the silver Washington, 2 Good Luck advertisement tokens. The clay marble & pocket watch key winder are first for me that I have had on my wish list.
I know that an evening hunt making good finds and meeting good people is good therapy after a hectic few weeks of work. HH David

Super, Dave! There's always more finds to be had--I've heard "good luck, but others have been here already..." only to leave with some passed-over keepers.

Great finds, love those IHs & the good luck token. Those 1916 Mercs always seem to be worn out!
