This is mainly a FYI to all ETP owners out there: I got my ETP earlier this week & have had it out on its maiden voyage yesterday. Last night while I was cleaning it up, I noticed a rattle, like a screw rolling around in the upper portion of the control box. I called Teknetics tech support and explained the situation & the tech said I would need to send it back so they could repair it (!!!#^????). He said I would probably have it back in a month! Keeping my composure, I politely asked him what would happen if I just took out the 3 supporting screws & kinda peeked inside to see , EXTRA LONG PAUSE ON HIS END, he said "I guess ya could, but don't tell anyone you did," so with 3 screws out, the box off the rod & cable unscrewed I took the back off, if you were to try this TAKE IT OFF GENTLY SO YOU DONT BREAK THE SMALL CABLE THAT IS ATTACHED TO BOTH PIECES. The problem was, there is a small plastic guide for the earphone jack that was not properly seated in its rail on the inside of the control box...easy fix that saved me money and at least a month without my detector, love this machine, the only discrepancy I've found is a 1/10th oz. gold coin rings up at 77 vs. 54-57, but that's the fun of getting a new machine! Hope this helps someone HH.
