Hi fellow treasure hunters.
This is the final episode of my European trip. I saved the best to the last,so here it is. In the Fourth days of my trip started just like the previous ones. Cold, and on and of rain.Just great! But when you detect in Europe you don't sit in your room, and drink whatever horrible drink they brewe there! ( kidding, the drinks are good!) I went up to my favorite spot on the hilltop. Few 4Th century roman coins came not biggie,a nice buckle, and the next dig produced these two roman gold rings! In the same hole!I would like to say came a strange signal. But no,just the usual you have to dig signal.I saw the first one right away in the dirt pile.I've lifted out and could not believed what I'm holding in my hands! It rained I was muddy but I kissed it! Personal history ! Some one wear ed this in Her finger! I sat there for minutes quietly, then I called my local friend, guide, and mentor there. Hi got very exited,I saw the biggest smile in his face I had ever see.
Did you check the hole?Hi asked. Not yet,I'm out of my mind I sad and swept over the hole again. We booth herd the signal.I lifted more dirt out of the hole with my hands and saw it! Another ring!!! Shine yellow as allways.I really started to shake, but cold and rain had nothing to do with. Long story short,we checked every inch of the area,Two more bronze came lots of small iron but no gold. That OK I sad to my self,if I find nothing more in the trip, it is still my best ever. But this is not what my fate decided to gave me. On the seventh day just before call it the day, I find this small and crushed piece of gold. The sun was down,I could not see details but at home I saw this is a piece of detailed jewerly, perhaps earring,Roman or Celtic. The smaller ring is from the 1Th-2ND century, the bigger is a fourth century so called Silvanus ring, dedicated to the god Silvanus, the god of the agriculture. The next picture came from a pasture, broken piece of a 6Th century migration period Avar earring, and silver. Take a close look of the craftsmanship!! I find allmost similar in one of my catalog. Now you guys undersand why I chose the title DREAM TRIP!! I hope some of you enjoyed it,thanks for the comment's,and responses. I hope some other fellow detectorist going to have a same Dream Trip as I had!! Happy hunting and good luck to all!! Pannonian
