Estate Sale Cast Iron marked Standard

I bought these at an estate sale. Any ideas what they are? They have 4 mounting holes in the base and have holes at the end of each side of the arms that stick up. They are about 16 inches high. They have the word "Standard" embossed in them but I can't find any other markings. I though they may be mounts for signs but they seem too heavy duty for that since they are made of cast iron.

They do look like the type of ground mounted sign frames that I recall seeing at gas stations.

The ones that they would pivot to say open or closed?

I believe it was made by Standard Sanitary Mfg. Co, which eventually became American Standard through mergers. So plumbing fixture of some sort is possible.
-the lettering and quotes around "Standard" are what makes me fairly certain of the manufacturer.

I don't know why, but that had gone through my mind too! They would certainly accommodate those plush oversized rolls that just get jammed in a standard holder. ...or "normal" I should say, since they clearly are Standard.
