ERWINNA, Penn., May 1.--It was discovered, several weeks ago, that "Rattlesnake Pete," whose cabin and odd manner of life have already been described in THE TIMES, had disappeared. His fire, which always burned at night and lighted up the woods with fantastic shapes, was unkindled, and no traces of Pete himself were discernible. [ END OF FIRST PARAGRAPH ]
