The USS Errol was named after an island off the coast of Louisiana. But cannot as yet find an island with that name?

Sadly the island no longer exists. 1916 book on geographic names.

Errol Island was a on the southern end of the chandeleur islands. Time, tides, current, storm and the ocean is slowly destroying outer barrier islands. Where Errol island once existed is now water.
