Got this yesterday doing some CRH'ing. 1995-d. Is this a strike thru error? Reverse is toast. Value? Looks like the die was grease filled when it was struck.
Wow! That's cool-looking! I think it is either strike through grease or severe die deterioration (more likely). None of these would bring much of a premium, but due to its severity, it might bring a couple bucks.
Post Mint man-made damage! While someone may have tried to make the coin appear to be a Capped Die Strike or severe Grease Strike, IMHO it is neither. Note the lack of a rim on the Reverse which should still be there even if the coin was the victim of either.
