Am very interested in equipment that works for you. Please include pictures and type of gold in your area. And brief history of gold mining in your area. Ex. I live near san Juan's in nm, I use jobe sluice and high banker, also experimenting with own equipment. The mining in my area was mostly hard rock silver and gold. Some copper lead zinc and tellurides. image.jpg

Oh yea, forgot picture of goldimage.jpgnot much but way too fun!

Thinking about a new sluice. Looking at the vortex well sluice, and bazooka, one is ridiculous expensive, the other not so bad.

IMHO and from the results I've seen posted here with all the positive reviews, I would go with the bazooka...but, that's what I would do based on what I have to work with. Have you found any color yet? Dry or wet?

Build your own such as I did with Gold Hog Mats. The mats takes lots of water but trap all the gold if setup correctly.

Here is my 6" wide 33" long power sluice, complete with gold hog Matt and getto header box

Don't know why it's upside down sorry

That's a ton in my eyes Lewis. Still more what I have gotten my whole time I have been mining. Not long though. Lucky haul you got there.

My favorite sluice (of 5) is my Bazooka 30" Prospector, no classifying and it takes a shovel full of material at a time so it's the fastest thing out there (at a portable weight and reasonable price). I've got tons of hours on it and it's still going strong too, solid construction :) image-85274673.jpg image-3051152111.jpg Recent takes of gold from a local creek...about 1/2 gram of fly poop and a few mini flakes.

Thanks H&F.... that was several trips last year, and it always looks bigger & better in pic's ! I "think" that is 2-3 gram's....

And it's a LOT more than the .25 grams I'm sitting on :laughing7: I had a cousin recently ask me why we keep the gold in water? I told her it makes it look bigger. Stunned look then big laughs:thumbsup:
