Hello everyone

Grabbed an equinox a few days ago early Christmas gift for myself.

Today I had time to get out and put it to work. Took it to a heavily hunted park and put it to the test. It didn't disappoint.

Ran it in park 2 with a few tweaks and just hunted. Little did I know that my first old coin was a barber dime 1903 inside a 1913 dime bank.

When I found it I heard a rattle and suspected a coin was in there. I continued to hunt and picked up three wheats a Indian two mercs and a silver cuff bottom.

The machine performs pretty well right out of the box. A little emi issues but not to terrible.

Machine seems to excel in iron soils with trash present. Both mercs were really close to trash and the faster response on the machine helped me hear them.

Overall opinion so far is this is a good machine for the money. I've been watching my brother the past few months do well with his so I added one to the arsenal.

The rest of the finds came from my past two hunts with the ctx. Added 8 more silvers for the year in the past week.

I came upon a few early relics swinging a home site. An old thimble small little bell and what I believe is a late 1700s cuff link octagon.

Maybe the experts here can confirm. I'm off work until the 2nd and will get out a few more times before the season is over. Our weather is in the 50s right now.

Thanks for looking

Jer

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Finding an old coin bank with silver coins in it is very cool. You’ll do well with the Nox. I think it is a tough detector to learn as a first detector or moving up from a beep and dig machine (me...). But one of my hunting buddies just got one after using an ATP and is on fire. He has gone out 3 times and has found silvers and other old coins each hunt and really has had zero frustrations. Good luck!

Nice Finds! Congrats

The fact that you found the coin inside a tiny bank makes it even better! Congrats on it all!

I agree - the bank is cool - but it also makes me a little more sad for the person who lost it 100 years ago. They obviously cared about that dime.... (Maybe I'm just in that kind of mood since it's Christmas time)

I've never seen a little coin locket before- that's why I love this hobby. Learn something new all the time.

I've never seen someone find a piggy bank before that's cool next time it will be stuffed with old coins but 1 is still awesome yep it's a good machine you make a good Santa lol Happy Holidays

Cool find! I've never seen a dime bank before. Good stuff.

Nice finds, congrats! :occasion14:

Thank you for the comments.

Bank was a really neat relic it's a first in 26 yrs of hunting. I actually love collecting antique cast iron banks so I know a thing or two about them.

I've bought about 40 of them over the past three months rummaging all over the north east in antique shops etc.

This bank was 75 cents a dozen in 1913 and today it is sort of scarce saw two on ebay one for 35 and one for 80 pretty cool item

The bank would have held 10 dimes then automatically opened when the 10th dime was deposited. Unfortunately I had to cut the edges open a bit to reveal the coin not to bad though.

Nox is a good machine. Look forward to putting some more hours on it to learn it a bit more.

Lol

I feel like Santa after all the gifts I bought for everyone this year.

Nice finds Jeremy. You definitely have yourself a circa 1760 octagonal cufflink there

Very cool. And please tell me there’s an ‘S’ mint mark on that 1903 dime!

I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a coin bank like that. Extremely cool. Congrats!

Thanks guys,

Steve thank you for verifying that's an old one for around here. You know your stuff. I knew it was 1700s but didn't know it was that old.

This site must have been pretty old.

No S mint mark I checked.

Very nice finds. You will like the Nox. It's a great detector.

Yes it is a .22 revolver piece pretty well made.

Not sure if it's real or a toy.
