It’s been a while since I’ve found the goodies. There’s been some good waves lately, not good enough to make cuts but good enough to move sand. I have been keeping an eye on the waves and wind and figured things should be good. I got out for a 7hr hunt and it paid off quite nicely. When I got there I saw opened holes everywhere with some junk laying besides them. I got started and my 3rd target was a toasted mercury dime :hello2: I continued to zig zag from the top of the slope to the low tide trying to find the heavy line but things were scattered a bit. After a while a found a five foot line close to the top of the slope that held some heavies so I decided to follow that line till I couldn’t find anymore targets. On that line I managed to find my first gold for the day marked 585. I walked that line for about a 1/4 mile and didn’t find anything else so I moved lower and found more targets. After an hour I came across a VDI of 3 on the equinox and it was a tiny unmarked gold ring with two real diamond chips. A while later I came across an old timer swinging a pulse induction, which was the guy leaving the mess in the beach during plain daylight. I quickly passed him and just kept doing my thing. About an hour later at a spot he had dugged already I found a lot of quarters and nickels so I worked that place. It paid off since I found my last ring there marked 14k. I ended up with 3 gold rings, one silver dime and $16.29 in clad. This is my second time finding 3 gold rings in a hunt and my highest clad count. There was a lot of black sand, more then usual. It was so bad in some spots that I got an overload on the equinox but I still managed a few coins from there. Thanks for reading and good luck out there.

Thanks Tommy. I spent a year in Illinois and I can honestly say I don’t miss that kind of weather one bit. Hope things start warming up for you so that you get your detecting fix :occasion14:

What kind of dime?

It’s just a mercury dime, but good enough for me. HH

Hey, Rasco......That, my friend was a GREAT beach hunt......anytime you find silver coins, gold rings & showing the heavier black sand on the BEACH and of course an excellent metal detector......It just doesn't get any better than THAT......I was born & raised in Northern Illinois and retired to Florida in 1988,.......and YES love this weather, I was out yesterday and posted my clad coins I found in about 4 hours at a Sports complex........HAPPY HUNTING to ALL.

Thanks Bill. If only all hunts were this productive but unfortunately this only happens every 20-30 hunts. I wish my hunts were like the ones posted on YouTube, pulling gold every outing. You had a great outing pulling all those coins from that field. Hope you put your coil over some jewelry next time :icon_thumright: Good luck and happy hunting.

Great finds there racso. Makes me wanna move back to Florida. If I may, That asshat whom left his trash should be shamed. If a person leaves the trash they also leave a bad impression for the hobby to other people. These are the kind of lame behaviors that will end our hobby as we know it. If I knew which car this guy was driving I would have been tempted to leave my trash on his hood. Or at least ask him why he is such a trashy f-

The funny part is that he would come back the next day to dig the same area and waste time digging all that junk again :icon_scratch: It sucks that there’s so many people like that in our hobby and I have come across quite a few. It’s so easy at the beach to just push the sand back in with your foot, step on it and go onto the next one. Good luck out there and happy hunting :occasion14:
