Environmental remediators at work

Would like to see this shown at the DEQ hearings in Oregon!

bejay, went over mine too, where did that come from, so toxic lead removed by suction dredge is soooooooo bad, that the Sierra Club will be using one on the combie
yup makes perfect sense

What I meant is the enviro/wack jobs have their minds already made up. Presenting obvious facts to them makes absolutly zero differnce.

I sent the vid to a state representative. Those who make the laws and adopt policies need to be given FACTS. Additionally the dredge side needs to propagate as much factual evidence to the public that we can.

But I will share some info of personal experience. I used to do geology related presentations for the USFS (pro bono). I would walk into a room with people sitting on two sides of the room: "greenies" one side........opposite group the other. After my presentation I would get the vast majority of the sides wanting to come together.....as many of the "greenies" really did not know the facts and were basing their beliefs on emotional "do good" propaganda.

So facts matter.......and the "greenie" agenda lies can be overcome. Granted.....It takes getting an ear. And preaching to the choir is easy to do. Getting the "greenies" to hear the facts is a challenge....but in order to "counter" the lies one must always be willing to try. Fear of losing can in itself cause losing because people who do; simply fail to try. IMHO

I guess I'm showing my age with that statement! It's a phrase that is [or was] used in debates/discussions. It is meant to be condescending and derogatory

Was just over my head. I know what "wackos" are.......and my age may be greater than yours.

No doubt we experience frustration dealing with "wackos" and many of those making laws/policy/rules are of that same cloth. According to John Hoser the lead poundage recovery issue was used extensively in Calif to no avail.....but we know where Calif stands in the political arena. Needless to say the lead/mercury recovery info must be simulated as best we can.

And the lead is not just unique to the waterways....as here in Az the desert is full of shot/bullet lead. But we miners recover it and the metal detecting crowd does as well. Take care

BJ, I'll soon be 62. Time flies like an arrow. Still feel like a pup--- most of the time !

Glad the pup feeling is still hangin in there. I am your senior in age. Getting old ain't for sissies! I have lost a number of close mining partners to cancer, and my current one is noticeably slowing down....as do I. One thing that gets us old farts going strong is when we hit some really good prospects. Something about that "GOLD" that makes us young again.....dreaming of the next day; as our old bodies welcome the evening relaxation and sleep. What's that country song?....something like: I ain't what I used to be.....or it takes me all day to do what I used to do all day.
Take care and hope you can get to some good gold........even as our bodies are wearing out the "Gov" Hand of Oversight/Restrictions is taking its toll as well.

There are no old wimps that's for sure. Getting old can suck, but it beats the alternitive. Good luck to you as well

HA! I did get carded 2 years ago in Austin ! I took it as a compliment, having lived such wholesome and exlemplary life.
