I would really like to figure out a date range for this coin.

My guess, a Louis XIII Double Tournois from 16__?

Looking for any help from the experts out there. 20200409_132439.jpg20200409_125135.jpg20200409_132312.jpg20200409_132122.jpg20200409_151725.jpg20200409_151742.jpg

Also, I have an Ultrasonic cleaner. I have not used it on this coin. Do you think it would help bring out other details? I would hate to damage it anymore than it already is though.
Curious on your thoughts. Many Thanks!

Cleaning any coin is a difficult decision, the problem is... once you remove the verdigris, you can't put it back. :dontknow:

It looks like you've already done a pretty good job bringing out the high relief points of the coin, I'd leave it as it is.

Nice find! Did you dig it? In Wisconsin?

Not exactly. Need to return to that new area (for me) and spend more time there when the weather improves. Still some floating icebergs to deal with!

Many Thanks Dave for your thoughts. It was the answer I was anticipating. I was very tempted to clean more, but thought better of it. I did not use any harsh chemicals, just used the water on site and then in hot water with mild detergent at home.
