Mouthwatering, though when I first saw the picture it looked like a bunch of smashed aluminum cans, waiting to be taken to the recycling place and converted to beer money. In some ways it looks like they were found just in time, before they degraded away completely. More than 1,000 coins, so I bet there is an awesome story behind how they got to that spot:

Of course, we'll probably never know - but it would be irresponsible not to speculate. My bet is "plunder" - this is probably loot from a hundred raids.
