Finally got a few good hunts in this weekend. Spent some time trying areas at site's I've pounded before that I haven't previously been able to hunt. This includes the woods at a late 1700s homesite and some newly mowed fields at a late 1700s blockhouse site.

At the blockhouse Saturday, and came across the silver spoon only a few inches down. It was pretty mangled and tarnished but I could clearly see what I believe is an "AM" engraved on the handle, and the makers mark on the back, N Harding. From what I see online he was a silversmith from the early-mid 1800s. Also got a few flat buttons and suspender clips not pictured. Working on getting the spoon cleaned up and will post some better pics when I'm done.

At the other site yesterday, spent a little while in the woods adjacent to the driveway where I've never hunted before. Pulled a couple buttons including the one pictured here. It's pewter and has a fancy star design, which I've never seen before. In fact, it reminds me a lot of the pewter Rev War buttons I've seen but I'm sure it's not related. Decided to head to the lawn next in an area I've covered at least 20 times. I tried listening for some deep/mixed signals on the Deus. Dug a hole with a little bit of a high tone, pulled out 3 or 4 nails, and mixed in was the SLQ. Definitely a welcome surprise considering how many times I've walked over the exact area.

I definitely needed a few good hunts like this to get me going again. Thanks for looking.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice work squeezing some more quality finds out of your site. I found a similar style silversmith mark on some silver spoons this summer. Was able to determine they were approximately 1820’s timeframe. Sweet SLQ as well. Congrats!

You dug three exceptional beauties. Those days are rare and do keep you pumped and primed for your next outing. Awesome!

Nice finds Grasshopper. Gotta love digging a Standing Liberty Quarter. They are a great looking coin. That spoon is neat also. Maybe they used it for their breakfast cereal in the morning and had it marked AM !

Wow that's a good day nice coin and spoon I need a day like that myself. Well done
