Pics tomorrow! On the way home from work, stopped by an area I just told my dad yesterday I could FEEL it had a gold ring in it.....Today, 40 minutes into hunting, digging everything that whispered, squeaked or waved on the dial, I pulled out my 3rd gold ring of the year. It is 14K. SMILE!!!!!!

Re: End the year with a GOLD ring!

You've got ESP. How spooky!!! VERY SMART to dig the strange signals as well as the ordinary ones.

Congrats on the gold ring. Looking forward to seeing the pix.

Just 'felt' there had to be gold there, huh? How much are you going for at the Detector shops? Sounds like you would be an improvement over my machine!! ;)

Congrats, by the way, on the BEAUTIFUL piece of gold!

Now THAT is one very cool band! Ya never know wha those oddball sigb=nals may be...My last one was a gold plated box chain and my detector was singin' freakaleak!
;D
Great dig man!

I hunt a fresh water lake. The lake is way, way down this year. When I find a new area I look for the water lines. I can tell where they have been based on the rocks and vegatation. I then look for the amount of surface trash (pop tops, can, bottles etc). I also look for those tell-tell signs of whether other hunters have been there recently. I hunt in all metal mode/no discrimination for a half hour or so to determine whats in the ground. I have found that Quarters+keys=jewelry. If I am finding a lot of clad especially quarters and keys...Yahoo.......... I find jewelry. Also, if I find silver rings....hot diggety, most likely there is going to be gold in them there beaches. What the experts on treasurenet say is TRUE! You will not find gold if you are not willing to dig up trash. There was a pop top very close to the gold ring and if I was discriminating I would have passed it by.

Congrats on the GOLD. You're right about diggin trash signals. Lord knows I've gotten my share. Best ring I have found so far read pull tab!

HH,
Moon
