End of Month Report - Feb 2009

Searched 32% less coins in Feb vs. Jan. so the totals are down.

Quarters: Nothing to report
Dimes: 2 pre-65, 1 Canadian
Nickels: 3 wartime, 86 pre-60, 4 Canadian, 1 Thailand
Pennies: 1 Merc, 65 wheats, 23 Canadian, 1 Uk, 1 Bahamas, 7 varieties.

Top 3 Finds for Feb 2009:
1. Merc: Found in handrolled pennies, very dirty completely brown. I do not clean my coins but she is taking a bath. Being my first Merc she is not going anywhere.
2. 1943 Steel Penny. My first steel penny.
3. 2 Silver Dimes. Got nothing from Dimes in Jan, so this is a nice change.

Hit Statistics:
- Wheat and foreign hit rate in pennies dropped by 46% in Feb. [Even if I exclude the wheat roll I found in Jan - the rate is down by 26%. ]
- Did slightly better (8%) in pre-60 nickels.

2009 Goal Tracking:
- 2000 Wide AM - Complete.
- Indian Head - Not complete.
- Buffalo - Not complete.
- Merc - Complete.
- 100 Foreign Non-Canadian - Current 12. Not on track.
- 500 Canadian - Current 91 on track for 564.

Overall it was an Ok month, hope we will all have a better March.
