Emeralds bought through the Mail: Have you?

Most of us wouldn't know a nice gem stone if we found one. They look so different in the raw, and that even includes diamonds. Monty

I've done it a couple of times. And yes you can find stones worth cutting. What I did was put them in a tumbler to knock off the matrix they were in. I was just going to tumble them for an aquarium. Anyways I was changing grits one day in a batch I had going and found a dark rock, or atleast I thought it was. It sat on my bench for a week atleast b4 one of my kids picked it up and asked me what this green rock was. They were holding it up and there was a lamp behind them and that's when I disovered it was really a dark green emerald! :o And a nice one at that! ;D I will try to get some pics up of it and a couple of others I found. So yes! Give it a shot! :wink:
