Alright guys and gals, as season has started in earnest a few weeks ago, I was pondering about items that I see often at sales and if I am passing up easy money.

Well, I discovered I have lost out on hundreds this season alone. I am here to talk about breast-pumps. Yes, I said it! I remember seeing them often, well taken care and sitting in their little cases and accessories displayed around the perimeter. My eyes would always scan right on by knowing I was in the wrong department and blushing a little.

Now, not all pumps are equal but take a look at the bay, particularly on the doubles with battery packs and such. Those $100. dollar ones I have past by with $20. price tags more than I can count.

My first try was a bust, the seller and I talked after I bought some things and knew I was a picking type. When I decided to buy my first pump that was sitting on the table I asked her if she would throw in all the accessories such as bottles and whatever and she wised up and ran to check the bay prices. She had a double, quality pump and I didn't have my story ready. I am ready, money is at stake!

I've often wondered when I see these... why would someone want a used breast pump? Now I know. :icon_thumleft: Breast pumps beware! lol

What about all the used, (very used) womens underwear? I always wonder why the lady haveing the yard sale put out all her undies for the world to see what bad shap they are in.

OH and has any one ever seen a Barbie that had clothes on?

I have, my wife's name is Barbie and I can't get her clothes off! Ok, I am kidding, her name is June, she is built like Barbie and I can't get her clothes off. LOL

Good point, other than my Mother's collection from the 60's, I dont think I have ever seen a fully clothed one. Plenty of naked heaps in the thrift stores, I'll tell you that.

After a quick look, if you can get piles of naked barbies, there is a freak market for them. Just saying...
Don't research if your eating or sane...

Underwear is all about marketing to the right perve...I mean buyer.

As a father of 3 youngins and a husband to a huge breastfeeding advocate i can tell you breastpumps can fetch a pretty penny. The best ones are made by a company called Medela. FYI the breastmilk does not go through the pump itself but straight into the bottle as the pump sucks with air through a tube. You can find this stuff on ebay, usually all of the parts have been sanitized by boiling, and the more parts you offer the better luck you will have selling.

That is the brand I lost out on. A double with the bag, backpack, battery packs and enough other accessories to fill a small tote. :BangHead:
From now on I won't be teat-ering about it.:tongue3:
The hospital/med center units are gold.

bummer war-digs-it. i guess the hospital/med center units would be better. The medela i think is the higher end consumer brand.

Yes but underwear can be washed in hot water and soap and bleach an be sanitary again.......But with a used breast pump it would be hard to clean then you have to use what you got in it to feed your baby................ NO THANKS.....

.....USUALLY...... Well i would never let any one in my family buy a used breast pump........... You never know what a person that sold it had......

Ok, enough. Just look for sterling in the thrift stores and garage sales and you will sleep much better...

You were passing up big bucks, but not any more (or not for long). Breast pumps are now covered by health plans, so with free breast pumps out there, the market for premium pumps is going to be undercut. I had a friend who would buy them and make big money. Terrible image what he did to make sure they worked...
