Ellensburg Blues - spring frost heave

I understand hunting for Ellensburg Blues is best during the spring frost heave. I can hardly wait. Is anyone else from around Ellensburg & looking forward to hunting in a couple months? I'm looking for a treasure-seeking partner, so please reply if you're looking for the same!

Understand the "Ellensburg Blues". I was born and spent my childhood on Lake Chelan so I can only imagine your wait for spring and detecting weather. I now live in Florida where we have 365 days of detecting weather.. Beaches are great after a hurricane. Come on down!!!!.

Anytime is good time for hunting blues. You can find them sometimes in the road cuts northwest of town. Here is a nice article on hunting the blues:

Lynne - the collecting on the beach sounds like fun! Bet you do find some nice stuff.

Weather is warming here to a balmy 40s - won't be too much longer I hope. Ground is still pretty cold, so that makes it more difficult to poke around. I'll take your suggestion of looking in the road cut outs one of these warmer weekends!
