Eliminate Mining

Great little video.

Actually that is a good example of what it would be like without oil.......
Sit down and think about the role oil plays in your life....... It goes far beyond the gas in your tank.......

Send that to all our political friends...........errrr never mind....they wouldn't understand it anyways.

You are more easily defeated by an enemy you underestimate.

Drop the fiat money as a standard and the greenies will be out diggin!

Well if you were to get rid of all forms of mining people would have to become much better at wood working, basket weaving, home gardening, making bows and arrows, leather tanning, and several hundred other skills that the majority of them could never master without a You-Tube video to show them how. OOOPPPPSSSS No computers to watch those videos on! Time for natural selection to step in and cull the heard!

What kind of wood working can you do without tools of some kind?

Or wood carved with a rock...but even the rock was really mined so...maybe just with little flowers ;)

Good point Hefty. I was assuming that with all the metals that have already been mined and refined that something could be found in a scrap pile somewhere and used. We all know that without mining in all its forms mankind would never have advanced beyond the hunter gather stage. The "Green Gestapo" just can't seem to get that through their thick heads. Sure we have many new clean forms of energy now but even they depend on mining in some form.

Without mining we would simply be Pre-Columbian America, world wide. That was one of the goals of earthfirst.

Even in Pre-Columbian times the Aztecs, Mayans and other cultures had mining. They worked metals and stone. Granted is was crude by todays standards but it was their gold that got them in trouble when the Spaniards showed up.

That kinda proves the point. The few cultures that actually did have mining [ and a bit of metalurgy] were so much better off than the nomadic hunter/gathers
