Time sensitive post here. Saw this table/stand in a secondhand store while on my road trip. It is nicely constructed and carved on the front with the image of an elephant. I am of the opinion that tusks are meant to sit in the grooves on each side and curve up and nestle in the hole and slot at the top. Of course, I could be way off. I will be in the town where this table is available for a couple more hours if anyone wants to chime in on whether it might be a good purchase or not. They are asking $54. Thank you!

I say go for it. Would be nice to find some fake tusks (plastic) that would fit your display table.

I tried to get them down a little bit on price, but apparently it just came onto the floor yesterday after spending a few weeks in the back while they tried to figure out just what the heck it was. My only concern is that it was probably custom-built for a specific set of tusks with a particular curvature that I might not be able to replicate. I am torn because it is one of those things that I can pretty much guarantee I will never encounter again in a thrift store.

Look in a mirror, I'll wait...

See yourself? Good.

Now SLAP YOURSELF IN THE FACE and say to yourself,

"Why am I asking people on a computer what I should do with my money?"

Repeat as necessary. You're welcome. :hello:

I think there is much better use of the space it will take up.

Lol Terry, I know, I know. I guess I could have worded my post better but I was in a hurry. My question wasn't meant so much to be 'should I spend my money on this', but rather 'why should I spend my money on this?' As in, is it rare? Is there profit potential? What the hell is it? At any rate, I ended up passing on it as I still have about 14 days to go on the road and I want to keep space in the van for something I just can't live without. Thank you guys for the help though.
