I have an 18 karat gold ring with silver top, set with an emerald and four diamonds.
It is hallmarked on the outer side of the band with two unique animal head hallmarks and another hallmark stating a shield with what seems to be the letters F and M on top, and below the line a T. I was unable to find an accurate representation, picture or explanation of the exact hallmarks anywhere on the net. The first one is an elephant head with what appears an upward trunk and a visible neck, looking left, while the other one is a rooster, also looking left, with a unique erect comb that has four distinctive straight points, a long wattle and a distinctive, long neck.
Please help me find the origin of these hallmarks, thank you!

It's a wonderful ring and I've not been able to pinpoint any one of the 3 marks. I'm sure others out there are taking a crack at it also. It could be as old as 18th century from what I see but more likely made sometime in the 19th imo. To me it looks Spanish or Italian, but I could be wrong on that. These marks may not be published online:dontknow:

France used the Rooster as a proof mark but it's hard to see the marks on the ring to find the right match.

Welcome to TNet, love the ring.

I've zoomed in on the hallmarks in case it helps anyone identify origin.

Where is the gold mark. To me it looks like 1950's-1960's. I'm basing that on gold rings that I've dug out of the ground. Can you post a pic of how the silver top is attached to the gold ring (rivet, screw, etc), and of the gold mark and any other marks?

I think you may want to research Portugal. Here is another item that appears to have that same makers mark of the shield with FM over T.

PAIR of Solid Silver GOLFING KNIFE RESTS HM 1980 NR (08/13/2011)

Each is hallmarked with FM over T makers mark, the Portugal 925 assay mark, 925 convention mark and 925 (sterling silver standard mark) showing that each knife rest was hallmarked in Portugal in about 1980.

Thank you all for your replies, so far I must say none have helped, as the marks are clear but there is no trail of them on the net anywhere, beyond what I already found and mentioned. It is definitely not a new ring, that is quite sure.
Thank you anyway, keep the answer coming, please.

Let us see how is the silver is attached/fixed to the gold, and let us let us see the gold mark too. That may help date your ring. I've found over a pound of gold jewelry and working on 2 so I sort of know my gold. If I found that ring I would remove the stone and keep it, then I would rip that silver off and sell both for scrap. That's what happens to the majority of my gold finds except the exception pieces.
