Charlie is correct. Condensate evaporator drain pans. They are used in refrigeration. They catch the condensation dripping and the heat evaporates the water. Its better than constantly having to empty the water from a drain pain.

They are worth more than scrap if they work.

Thanks, these came from an apt. building, but the guy owned a grocery store with coolers. So I guess to check them, all I have to do is plug them in, drop water in and see if it evaporates.

I guess thats the best way to check or if you have an amprobe. You could also check for continuity. I think its just a simple heat strip. They may get warm to the touch.
