So not long ago we happened to be exploring, and we came upon this strange sight.
Turns out it is the grave of Edward Schieffelin, He was a prospector who came looking for Gold, but instead found Silver, and led to the founding of Tombstone AZ.
First picture is his grave.
Second is with his grave mark
The plaque on it reads, "Ed Shieffelin, died May 12, 1897, aged 49 years, 8 months. A dutiful son, a faithful husband, a kind brother, and a true friend
It was his request that a monument, such as prospectors build when locating a mining claim, be built over his grave. He was buried as his will specified: in mining clothes, with pick, shovel, and his old canteen.
Last is the sign telling his story.
