Edisto Island Hunting?

Has anyone had any luck hunting on Edisto Island beach for artifacts? Thanks

Well I could mark a spot for you on Hilton head island that you could go directly too and pick up pottery and all sorts of native American artifacts. But if it's Edisto then I can only give advice. I think if you use a kyak you can access areas of shoreline and river spots that would pay off. The spots that are sandy, are much more stable and firm than they look. Often times these boat traffic areas where the wake piles up a shell berm is productive. Also where some boots or carry them in your kyak/pack. Don't be afraid to get out and test the terrain......it may look like deep mud and it turns out to be quite firm. I've walked for miles on these river banks picking up bottles and pottery frags are often every where in these areas. That's one basic technique that allows you to scout large areas in a day. If you want to drive to Hilton head ill mark a spot for you, and DM you.

If you could PM me the spot on Hilton Head, I would greatly appreciate it. I get to stay at my aunt’s for free, so I could make that drive from her house one weekend. Thanks so much for your insight and help.. I do appreciate alot.
