I haven't sold on Ebay since 2010 and have accumulated a lot of items and will start selling again very soon.
Is there any major changes I should know about? Should I use the paypal automatic funds payment option to pay seller fees or pay as I go?
And one more. If I don't plan on transferring funds to my bank account from paypal, they don't require a routing number?
Thanks
Marty

Not sure what paypal requires now .
But I just keep a separate checking account just for paypal to link to and move most of the money to my primary account.

I'll 3rd that notion. I'm sure there are going to be some differences in the last 3 years. They are changing things all the time.

I pay my fees once a month when they are due. I leave my monies in paypal all month until I do this. Then I transfer the remainder of the funds to my paypal dedicated bank account.

If you are selling items that will sell for less than $12 total w/shipping then you will want to open a second paypal account for micropayments. Micropayments

One note- I think they hold your money for several weeks if you haven't been actively selling for a while, that or until the buyer leaves positive feedback. Something to that effect.

Print your shipping labels through ebay if possible, it will save you money.

There's more I'm sure others will chime in.

Yes they hold your money for 21 days, which really really sucks. You can get it early if you use the shipping label with a tracking number and they will release it 6 days after their estimated delivery date. It's a good place to sell the odds and ends I'm finding out. But there's so much junk that people are selling now with stupid prices that it buries the good stuff. To much junk from Hong Kong or other parts of china that cost .01 but 45 to ship. Good luck hope you make a good profit.

I do this and it seems to work out for me. I actually have an eBay Mastercard and most of the funds I get from sales go to pay off my credit card when I have enough to cover the bill. So everything that I buy through PayPal, I use the eBay Mastercard as my default payment option and get points. I've accumulated quite a few gas cards!

If you do international shipping - opt out of the Global Shipping Program option . It is a big hassle . I'm not sure what it is yet , but I am having a problem with an item I sold to the UK . I could not send him an invoice - Ebay did it + they gave him a $14.00 import fee for a $26.00 item . I'm not sure what this is except a hassle / money grab by ebay .

You are half correct. Look into it a bit more before you write it off and tell others to avoid it.

I haven't had a problem yet with the global shipping program. I quit selling internationally a few years ago because it was a big hassle. So far (knock on wood) the new program is working okay for me. I've sold a dozen or so items so far via GSP, so I haven't had too much experience with it yet.

Thanks, Dig. I learned sumpin' new today.

So did I, but can't really see it being useful to too many on here because you'd basically have to be doing all low BIN sales. I actually sell a ton in that range, but also sell a ton over, and the small saving wouldn't be worth having to change emails when listing and dealing with 2 accounts in general, and even if I was willing to it would be a total guess for me what was going to sell in that range because all my stuff that low I auction. I'm always looking for a better way t do things but don't think I can take advantage of this.
