I'm not selling anything; however, I wanted to put this out there for the dealers and hobby sellers who have an eBay store.

The final value fee on metal detectors, for eBay store holders, has been 6.15% for some time. Now it is 9.15%. As far as I know, eBay did not announce the change. I believe the change occurred on August 1st.

The way this increase was instigated was to simply reclassify metal detectors from the "electronics" category to the "business and industrial" category. The final value fee on "electronics" is 6.15%, while the final value fee for "business and industrial" items is 9.15%.

as far as I know I have been paying final fees of 10% for a long time on selling a detector or pinpointer or coils and anything else like woodworking products and yard sale stuff and I don't have a store. Thank you

I was thinking the same when reading this. 10% to eBay. 3 % to PayPal. Then u gota cover shipping costs. Just brutal.

I think I've been in the same boat. May get a sales tax number and sell at flea markets.
