Gonna take a jab as I dont have my book in front of me.Early 1800's Infantry,Not too common with the silver wash..Knocks it not having the shank,and it should have a back mark.....we need that.

Is the letter "I" impressed into the shield or isi it raised. It looks like it is impressed. Can you read a backmark? An impressed "I" button may have either "Armitage/Phil" dating 1799-1826 or "L. H & Scovill" dating 1811-1827 on it.

early 1800's era eagle "I"--infantry button --(with silver wash might be a officers)-- very carefully clean out only the back look for marks

Nice. The button is an 1820's Infantry button. Without the shank probably worth about $20 or so.
