Today me and my wife went out to play in the mud and find some nice relics. My first signal of the day was a 2018 bucket lister for me, a thimble. My wife's first target of the day she pulls a nice flint lock musket lock plate.
We believe the area was an old homesite because we have found square nails by the pound. So the wife sat out to get away from the iron. I stayed behind and sorted thru the rusty mess to find an 1889 Indian Head Penny, flat button, 3 glass buttons, and the old remnants of some once fine China.
Covered in mud and needing a break from the nails I headed off to where my wife had been digging. She shows me what she had found.
Immediately the first item she shows me looks like part of a flattened out Civil War sword guard. Other items she found includes the pocket watch face, ornate hairpin or brooch, gold gilt suspender clip, 2 pewter spoon/fork handles, and boot toe cap.
Not long after joining her i found a very nice 1900 Indian Head Penny, 2 in 1 day. I also found a lead ingot.
Overall we had a good day and foubd some nice items, weve been trying to research, the pocket watch and glassware makers and dates. If anyone has any i put on any of the items I would love to hear. Also please give your opinions on the possible sword guard.
