Has been very hot here on Cape Cod. Usually we have steady breezes but everyday has been dead calm with 90+ percent humidity. Still got out a couple of early mornings to a site that is becoming interesting.

Found this watch fob, looks Georgian period. Lots of gold leaf still intact. Very clear deep aquamarine cut stone in wonderful condition. Had no Idea what it was at first.

Then found this flower button also with much of the gold leaf intact. Back has held up better. Missing gold on front may have been from wear and tear.

Really fancy design shield like button in perfect condition. I would think it may have been gilded at one time.

Side of a dirt road I had a signal thinking bottle cap. But this 2 piece eagle button popped out. I believe this would be a civil war era general service button.

Another unique button with a web design. Shank barely hanging in there.

Fangs to a small shoe buckle. Iron pin still in place.

A high signal turned out to be a hand made brass spike. Little bent, bus has a nice green patina.

Well until it cools down, I can head out again.
Thanks for looking. Bill

Liking the finds.
The watch fob is a great addition to any collection.
Nicely done one the buttons 👏
The heavy gold gilt back one, I would try a little lemon juice on a Qtip to see if you can bring more gold wash up on the front.

Cool finds! That "stone" is not the color of aquamarine, and even back in the day they did not mount precious stones in brass.

Sorry the photo is dark. The stone is clear aquamarine when held up to light. I checked, it is not glass. I'm a professional artist for 45 years. It's aquamarine.

Only a qualified gemologist can tell. They did not put precious stones in brass. Period. I'm a jeweler for as long as you've been an artist.

wow! you had a awesome day. great relics and love the watch fob. I thought it was a ring at first.

Thank you. I will try that.
