Made it up to the Northern Neck of Virginia yesterday. Searched new field and stumbled across an early site. Managed to pull out some decent finds in a short period of time including 3 buckles that look to be from the same mold, a double domed nippled bit boss, an ornate rosette and an early coin weight. I think it's a Charles I. I welcome any input but unfortunately the photos of it aren't going to get any better.

Here's a video of the hunt too.

Wowza what a hunt thats some amazing relics Well done

Nice finds, thank you for sharing! :occasion14:

Your coin weight is James I circa 1610.:hello2:

Nice hunt Joey  That's a killer coin weight and really early.

The only thing missing is the cob or cut piece!

You found quite a bit of nice stuff in a short hunt! I found a bit boss that is very similar to yours. I'd call mine a two ringer as well but not quite the same. I think that style can date to the 1600's possibly early 1700's. I asked Bill D. about it and he said that it's hard to date them more accurately because they didn't change much. Nice weight too. I'd love to find one of those. Looking forward to seeing what else you find there!

Thanks Steve, I'm sure one is in there. The other fields on this big farm have coughed up some cobs and other early finds so hopefully this little patch will do the same

Nice Joey. Watched your vid too. The ornate Rosette looks like tomac buttons I have found before. They are 2 piece buttons where the backs are copper/ bronze and the domes (with a very similar, hand etched design) are tombac. :occasion14:

Thanks man! This has the stud in it like a rosette but it could have been a button. I haven't been posting on here a lot but I do pop in occasionally looking at what the Masters are finding. Good stuff being posted lately.
