Detector(s) used
White's V3, Minelab Explorer II & XP Deus.
Primary Interest:
Prospecting
Not really much to show for it, though. Besides several kilos of scrap, here's the goodies:
2 Öre, 1912
10 Öre (silver), 1907
Skilling, 1820-ish
Button

And the large thing with holes. Copper or bronze alloy. What's it? Skimmer?

Looks like a good day and good finds to me! Congrats!:occasion14:

Congrats! Gotta love that silver...the swiss-cheesed unit appears to be a drain of some sorts...Ddf

Hahha, guess I had my hopes to high from last hunt! These were the finds after 7 hours searching.

No idea on the holey thing. Looks pretty old though, at least 200 years, I think.

Yeah, that last hunt would spoil anybody.

Yes, that's kinda what I thought to, 1800's. The holes were "punched" into it, not drilled. Note the slight size difference.
It's a curios thing. My first thought was also a "drain" filter-ish thing. However, I've never seen one with punched holes, much less 200+ years old.

Yeah, I noticed the size differences on the holes, makes me think the 'tool' was sort of cone shaped & they hit it with uneven pressure.
As it's hand-made the function may never be known....

Correct, the tool used is called a "punch" among metalworkers. (I've used one when blacksmithing)
The profile typically is round and cone-shaped. Driving it to different depths produces different sized holes.
