Early military button ?

Hi all.I found this button the other day at an old site were i have found early military stuff in the past.To me it kinda looks like it could be but may just be civilian.....wadda y'all think ?

oops again. Added a penny for size comparison also.Looks like it say's Orange and rich but also has some lettering that is obscured by the solder.Thanks y'all.

It looks like at least it says "Rich Orange" on the back - thats a quality mark referencing the gilting or color of the button... early to mid 1800s. Civilian button. She's in nice shape too... well done.
