We're having a heat wave around here, so after 7:PM and on into dark, I'll go for a 10 mile bike ride when things start to cool. All I have is a phone for a camera and its good for some shots, but really stinks on other shots, like capturing better ones of wildlife. I do have a light on my bike so I can ride on into the night and that's when you begin to see the creatures of the night, such as bats, fox, owls, coyotes, raccoons and a skunk crossed the path right in front of me and quickly turned to stare at me with its tail all flipped up like a fan looking at me like don't you dare think about chasing me. No worries Pepe la Pew I won't just let me quickly get on by will ya.

Great pics! Thanks for sharing!!

Nice family of owls.
As I was riding by when I saw one spread its wings out to land on that tree. I went take it's picture and a second one came along and then the third. They're all siblings most likely.

You notice that some years ago you would see pics on T-net and people would apologize for them being taken with their phone? Or their Etch-a-Sketch maybe? Those things have really progressed, and they actually capture a scene better than I can with a real camera sometimes.

I might buy another Panasonic like the one I had. It was pocket sized and had an extremely long reached zoom. Indeed some phones can really capture well, but nothing far away, such as my case here with the eagle and owls. Maybe there are some phone options to improve long range shots? I remember a guy at work some time ago now got him a PDA and I told him I think one day you'll see everything that thing does and a lot more on your mobile phones one day. He just said "you really think so".

Great PICTURES !!!

It can really only be seen along the trails, small creeks and designated open spaces. You pretty much won't know it exists driving the busy streets or toll ways all around which I photographed. The shot of the old house was once the location of a stage stop that once Ulysses Grant stopped at. It later became an early cattle ranch and then a large dairy farm and operation serving the Denver metro area from the 1930s to the 1960s. In the 1980s Boulder County purchased the land that includes that reservoir and all the land you see around that farm house. It's now call the Carolyn Holmberg Preserve.

Good IDEA Chilli !!! LOL

It is nice to get out and enjoy the cooler temps after these 90° plus days. I mounted a miners caplamp on it last night and starting out after 8:pm. I went for a ride around a lake in town and then down a trail that follows a creek and came up the main drag of our downtown. That lamp really lite up the night. It's the best way to enjoy the cool night and outrun these darn mosquitoes that have shown up after dark here recently. I can stay ahead of those pesky little buggers.
