Hey guys,

Dug this old copper coin along with a variety of flat buttons that range from the later 1600s to the early 1800s. The site was an old plantation that dates to the mid 17th century. It has been roached by salt water however I am hoping there is enough to positively ID it. The coin is 28mm and made of copper. The only writing I can make out is sandwiched between to lines of small dots and reads "1X54 X 7" I am guessing. Any help is greatly appreciated

I agree, based on the first photo it looks like a King George III halfpenny. In the 1600's Britannia (the person sitting on the back) looked different.
