Not sure what this is. It was apparently in some sort of swivel handle. I found it near a couple IHPs and a few Shield nickels. Based on the patina I am thinking same time period possibly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like a blade to a butter knife.

....but I'm curious , what do you mean by "swivel" ? I've yet to see a brass butter knife.

The one end has what appears to be a circle hole that would have mounted to a handle of some sort....or some other reason?

I do think it was once silver plated. Also I have seen this style of blade described more often as part of a fish serving set from the later Victorian period.
