so, while everyone else is fishin' I went a huntin !! back to a field I've hit hard over the past ten years, but first time with my ATPro. I did get one more Artillery button and two cuff buttons. Will posting to FB, I realized one of my earlier artillery buttoms is more unique than the rest. Perhaps some one can enlighten me on what year and rarity they are. Out of this field has also come pieces of a Shako Hat plate, sward scabbard tip, many buttons and col coins, also a 2 reale from 1774.
any help and info welcome--- ps, it was a cold and windy 2.5 hrs out there--- Social Distancing at it's best !!--- thanks, da Prof Screen Shot 2020-04-01 at 9.24.48 PM.pngScreen Shot 2020-04-01 at 9.24.35 PM.png

Those buttons are stunning! Must be some lovely soil. Congrats!

Sweet buttons

--thanks,NZ- of course depends where one digs, soil aint to bad in wooded area's or on lawns, but out in the farmers fields, them fertilzers can be hard on copper--see 'attachmemt'-- of course, silver come out nice and bright!! ill ghac]ve to find that breale and post. there were10-12 houses in that area, all but 2 are gone---my first find was an 1807 Half Dol!

There is something about an eagle on a cannon that has always grabbed my attention. I have found a few of the one on the left, but would love to dig the Artillery Regt type.

Congrats on the killer buttons! :occasion14:

GREAT Looking buttons! Congrats................Hogge

I found the same button as the one on the left in PA. : ) The face on yours is nicer though. Pretty exciting getting into buttons that old.

right, but in some farmer fields, the fertilizer can really eat copper up. but, in the woods!!! that's a different story !

four of these artillery buttons have come out that one house site-
